This is a violation of Phil's 1st Amendment rights to freedom of speech & religion but the bullies that didn't like his GQ interview answer are calling for him to be fired for his religious beliefs.
The LGBT & Far Left Liberals are wrongly claiming that he's spewing hate speech; although he didn't make any threats of any sort nor say that anyone should.
It's clear in the news reports & discussions that have quoted the actual article that Phil is not being hateful in his answer to GQ's question but explaining his own personal & religious beliefs.
Pretty certain that the Duck Dynasty will end up going on to one of the Christian Networks which do not depend on commercial advertising if A&E sticks with their suspension for an interview questions that GQ asked about his personal & religious beliefs.
Haven't read the actual interview but what I've heard read on air on the news & seen posted in some of the news blogs it sounds like he explained his biblical beliefs according to what the bible has listed in it's pages.
Phil listed not only homosexuality but also slanderers & adulterous people among the lists of sins that will not inherit heaven. None of the other groups listed among the "sinful" that Phil listed are screaming about hate speech yet the intolerant are
Basically Phil was paraphrasing 1st Corinthians chapter 6 which lists several sins among them being homosexuality (there are several other bible books with chapters in both the old & new testaments which lists sins) which is being wrongly called hate speech.
Interviewing & stating what the bible has to say to a magazine whose biggest demographic is the gay community might not have been the wisest choice on Phil's part, but our Constitution gives us the right to say things at times when wisdom would dictate that it's best to say nothing.
Considering that GQ knew Phil's beliefs prior to the interview & A&E knew them as well; I think that this has all been a publicity stunt to raise the ratings for GQ & A&E. Look at how much exposure the 2 media outlets have gotten over this
America was founded upon Freedom of Religion & Freedom of Speech; & regardless of your choice to believe or not in God, Phil has the right to believe what he chooses.
Our Constitution give you the right to not believe as he does or agree with what he has to say
He has the Freedom of Speech but each of us has the Freedom to Vote with our Wallets, if you do not agree with what Phil has to say then do not watch Duck Dynasty.
You have the Freedom to choose to Not Watch A&E or Buy any Duck Dynasty products but to harp & scream that quoting or paraphrasing the bible is hate speech & to try to force a man to be fired for his religious beliefs is violating his civil rights & just plain wrong & hateful towards all bible believing Christians
